UM DEIA Data Toolkit
An open-source data resource for diversity scholars
The University of Michigan Library and the National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) are developing an open data toolkit for diversity scholars to guide best practices in collecting, managing, utilizing, sharing and curating research data for the public good. (Diversity scholarship is defined as scholarship that furthers our understanding of historical and contemporary social issues related to identity, difference, culture, representation, power, oppression and inequality as they occur and affect individuals, groups and communities.) We will seek input from scholars on their current practices and gaps in support, and incorporate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEI&A) principles into the toolkit.
The first draft of the toolkit is now available at https://um-deia-data-toolkit.github.io/home/Toolkit.html; we will shortly be requesting feedback.
